In 2015 London Metropolitan Orchestra recorded Roque Baños’s score for In the Heart of the Sea, directed by Ron Howard.

Set in 1820, In the Heart of the Sea tells the story of a whaling ship which is attacked by a sperm whale, stranding its crew at sea for 90 days.

Roque Baños scored for 60 strings,10 woodwind with doubles, 16 brass including cimbasso, harp and 4 percussion with timps, amounting to 9 sessions altogether.

The sessions all took place at Abbey Road Studio 1 and LMO was led by Tom Kemp and conducted by James Seymour Brett and Roque Baños who also produced the recordings.

In the Heart of the Sea stars Chris Hemsworth, Cillian Murphy, Brendan Gleeson and Michelle Fairley, and is produced and distributed by Warner Bros.
